I'm Back!

Hello! Well I haven't been around much this past week, as have been busy decorating and its taken me away big time from my craft room! But now that both the girl's rooms are finished, I can now find sanction and relaxation back in it! LOL. Here are a couple of piccies to share with you (the light wasn't very good, so you can't get the true colours I'm afraid).

My Step Daughter Danielle's Lilac Room:-

My Daughter Megan's Pink Room:-

This piccie shows the built in cupboards that my darling other half built - I gave him a sketch of what I wanted and voila, here they are which I painstakingly painted with 3 coats of paint!! They are just brilliant.

So I will be back later with some cards. Hope you all have a fabulous day.

A Lovely Award

Good morning. Well what a lovely surprise to find I have been given an award from Helen - thank you so much!

However, there are 5 rules that go with receiving this award:-

1. Thank the person who gave it to you - done as above!

2. Copy and display the award on your blog - done as above!

3. List 3 things about yourself ... so here goes ....

  • For my sins, I love decorating and DIY (yes I know!) but I get so much satisfaction from the end result
  • I am highly organised ... I hate mess and everything has to be just right, even my wardrobe is colour co-ordinated and my CDs in alphabetical order .... much to the annoyance of all my family and friends LOL
  • When my children have grown up I would like to relocate to Cornwall to be by the sea air and countryside

4. Post a picture that you love - this is me and Mark on our first holiday together in Tenerife back in April 2005!

5. Tag 5 people I would like to pass this award onto. This was a hard decision, as there are just so many of you, but have decided to pass it onto my regular commenters, some of which have become very good friends over the last 6 months and whose work inspires me. So here we go, a BIG thank you to you all:-

Have a fabulous day!

My 1st Easel Card!

Morning crafty people - well I was up bright and early this morning and the sun was shining and I thought it was going to be a lovely day ..... how wrong I was, we're back to grey miserable rain again and its Friday! Can't believe 3 weeks of the school holidays have passed already - another 3 to go!

I have seen so many people make easel cards and I've always thought how fab they look, but must be so complicated to make. I decided at long last to have a go and am really pleased with how it turned out and shall definitely be making some more, incorporating different features on each one as there are so many options you can do.

I decided that I didn't want a full piece of card and went for just the image option, which I really like.

I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:-

Now I've just realised that I only have 1 button on my card for Anya Ink, however Miss Anya does have buttons on her shorts! Maybe this will pass do you think? If not no worries.

For this card I used:-

  • Miss Anya Stamp
  • MME Quite Contrary Papers
  • Card, Flowers, Button & Organza Ribbon from Stash
  • Promarkers
  • Fiskars Punch
  • Dawn Bibby Designs Greeting Stamp

Anyone for Cup Cakes?

Afternoon, my second post for today is for the following challenges:-

Now I'm not very pleased with this card at all .... it just didn't turn out right and I can't really put my finger on it as to why, especially as it was such a simple sketch to follow, but you know when you're not happy with something. However, I will publish whatever I make good or bad!

Card Ingredients:-

  • MME Quite Contrary Papers
  • Sizzix Frame coloured with PMs

So the card I made yesterday may make up for the fact its depressing outside as this is very bright indeed!

  • Paper from Stash
  • Swallowtail Butterfly Digi Stamp - freebie - can't remember from where!
