Less Is More

Afternoon peeps! Well the sunshine didn't last long did it ...... none today!

I've been wanting to enter the Less Is More challenge since it started a couple of weeks ago, but haven't had chance, so am very pleased that I can just manage to enter a card in time for this week's challenge.  However, I found it really hard to do a card with hardly anything on it ....... I used to make cards like this all of the time, but your techniques change don't they and I suppose you settle into a certain type, so this was definitely a challenge not to add anything else on to it LOL!

I'm entering it into the following challenges:-
Card Ingredients:-
  • Penny Black Brush Lillies Stamp
  • Brilliance Inks: Pearlescent Purple, Pearlescent Ivy & Platinum Planet
  • E-Z Rub-Ons
I would love to have your comments and thoughts on what you think of this - good or bad.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp 47 - DT Card

Good morning peeps!  Be prepared, grab a cuppa it's a long one! LOL

Well what a week - I haven't blogged since last weekend as have had such a busy week, this working full time malarky is wearing me out LOL, plus on Friday I had my 3rd day of first aid training and exam, and although it was an intense course, I luckily passed and am now a fully qualified first aider!

Helped Mark yesterday to completely rearrange the garage - he has so much stuff - but I suppose his garage is like my craft room full of stash!

Anyways I hope to be able to have some crafting time today to do a major catch up.  I am certainly looking forward to next Friday as it half term YAY!

Right it's Sunday and that time again for another challenge at Sunday Sketch & Stamp and this week it's Lisa's turn.

Lisa has provided us with a fab sketch plus an added extra of no corners, so it must be a circle or oval card.

And here's my take on the sketch.  I decided to make a topper using the basis of the sketch and theme.

Which I then stuck to my card base below.

For this card I used:-
  • Stamping Boutique AJ With Heart Banner Digi
  • Promarkers
  • Roses from Stash
  • Sizzix Hearts Using Mirri Card
  • Nesties
  • Papermania Love Colossal Paper
  • Docrafts Greeting Stamp using Brilliance Rocket Red Ink
This week we are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and the DT were provided with some of their fab digi images to use and one lucky winner will be receiving a lovely surprise.

We also have some exciting news - we are looking to add to our design team. If you would like to join us, here's what you need to know:

You must be able to:

  • produce a card, layout or other crafted item following the sketch, once a fortnight, and blog the item on your personal blog
  • provide a sketch for the team to follow when it is your turn on the rota, and produce the challenge post for your challenge also
  • visit and comment on entries to the challenge
Simply email us (address in the sidebar on our blog) and include your name, location, and a link to your blog so we can see your style.
We look forward to hearing from you.
I'm entering my card into the following challenges:-
Thanks for stopping by today.  I look forward to visiting your blogs.  Don't forget to pop on over and take a look at all the DT's fabulous creations. Have a great Sunday!

Mr Snowman

Good morning crafters - a very quick post before I set of to work on this very windy Monday!

Firstly I would like to say a BIG "hello" to my new followers and would like to welcome you on board and thank you for your support.  I hope you enjoy your visits here.

Secondly, did anyone watch Dancing On Ice last night? Well I was shocked to see Vanilla Ice and Jennifer in the bottom two!  They certainly did not deserve to be there, I could think easily of 4 who should have been - what are the public thinking when they vote!?  And it all kicked off between Karen and Jason too!

Right onto my card which I am entering into the following challenges:-

Card Ingredients:-
  • Plum Purdy Too Much Snow Stamp
  • Papercellar Modern Christmas Papers
  • Cardstock from Stash Using Sizzix Texture Plate
  • Ribbon from Stash
  • Anita's Peeloff Greeting
  • Promarkers
  • Frosted Ice Stickles
  • Sky Blue Brilliance Ink with Waterbrush
Now I know you what you are thinking - It's a Christmas Card! LOL.  But I had decided that I would make either one a week or at least every two weeks to ensure I don't leave it all until the last minute and in joining me with this decision are KerynClare and Chris.  We will be setting ourselves little challenges to complete them throughout the year, so if you would like to join in with us and make sure you have enough stash, don't hesitate to let me know by commenting or emailing me.

Right that's it for me this morning .... I'm off to school! LOL

Have a great day whatever you are up to.

5 February 2011

A Lovely Surprise!

Hello again on this miserable, dull and windy day!  I don't know about you, but it's blowing a gale here in Coventry today!  Thank goodness I am tucked away indoors.  I can't go anywhere at the moment anyway as my car is in for it's MOT, so fingers crossed it passes!

Well I had a lovely surprise earlier to find that I had received a very lovely award from my blogger friend Donna.  She has a fabulous blog and makes such wonderful cards and is well worth a visit if you have time.

This is a special award, which is aimed at bringing unknown good blogs to light and in accepting the award I have had to agree to the following conditions:-

  1. You have been tagged, do you want to accept? Yes I do! then create a post on your blog and post the love blog photo.
  2. Link back to the person who gave you the award and say if you accept.
  3. Choose 3-5 of your favourite blogs to tag, link these in your post too and tell the lucky people they have been tagged.  As the aim of this award is to bring unknown good blogs to light, please don't tag somebody with 3000 followers.
So I am passing this award to the following 5 fabulous bloggers:-
